Luxurious Lightness
With the aim of achieving a practical layout combined with a light aesthetic, a matte soft grey lacquer finish was selected, paired with the grain and knots of a light-toned wood. This material is echoed in the open shelving, the interior of the display cabinet, and the breakfast station, creating a cohesive visual language.
These are just some of the defining features of a JMQ kitchen rich in detail. The display cabinet brings together all the materials used throughout the cabinetry, acting as a unifying element, enhanced by decorative lighting. Meanwhile, the breakfast station (also illuminated, though with a more functional purpose) serves equally well for preparing light meals or snacks and housing small appliances. With lift-up doors, maintaining a tidy appearance becomes effortless.
For cooking, the kitchen is equipped with the BORA M Pure system, combining induction and extraction, alongside an oven and a combi-microwave oven from Gaggenau. Food preservation is ensured by Liebherr integrated fridge-freezer, with an impressive 91 cm width, and helped by the BORA QVac vacuum sealing system.
Gaggenau Performance
The ovens tall cabinet delivers a level of performance that only Gaggenau can provide.
In this case, it features an oven offering 9 heating methods, with temperatures ranging from 50°C to 300°C and exceptional precision. Complementing it is a combi-microwaves oven, reaching up to 250°C in oven mode and 1000W in microwave mode, with the ability to combine both functions.
Both appliances belong to the 200 series, with metallic colour finish, and are equipped with an intuitive TFT touch display.
Breakfast Station
Positioned at the end of the tall unit section, the breakfast station features an internal worktop measuring one metre in width, easily concealed behind pivoting pocket doors.
The mechanisms allow the space to be effortlessly closed off or revealed, depending on the moment – either to discreetly hide clutter or to create an additional work area. It accommodates small appliances such as a toaster and coffee machine, among others, and is equally suited for preparing light meals or snacks. For this reason, it was positioned as close as possible to the home’s leisure area.
The Dekton worktop ensures durability, while the illuminated shelving provides comfort and usability throughout the day.
91-cm wide Liebherr Integrated Fridge-Freezer
A kitchen of this level naturally calls for equally high-performing food preservation. This role is fulfilled by the Liebherr integrated fridge-freezer – a premium appliance, 91-cm wide, offering a total capacity of 522 litres (362 for refrigeration and 160 for freezing).
The fridge compartment, positioned above, is accessed via two doors, revealing a spacious interior designed to accommodate even the largest serving platters. Below, the freezer is organised into two practical drawers, complete with an integrated ice maker.
Handles were required, and the opportunity was taken to specify the same model used on the ovens, ensuring visual continuity across the composition.
Light to Inspire
The kitchen layout was designed to encourage freedom of movement and elevate the cooking experience. The main preparation area is set on the peninsula, facing natural light during the day, and complemented by two suspended pendant lights for any time of day – making cooking even more enjoyable.
This is where the BORA M Pure system is installed, with extraction seamlessly integrated into the hob. On the reverse side, an overhang provides comfortable seating for two, ideal for informal moments of gathering.
Integrated lighting within the GOLA profile adds a refined touch, running continuously along the worktop.
Floating Shelves
The decision to forgo wall units in favour of open shelving was key to achieving a lighter atmosphere, one of the main objectives of this project.
Designed to display selected pieces, these shelves introduce character and life to the space, reflecting the personality of its owners. Integrated LED lighting enhances visual comfort while reinforcing the warm and inviting ambience intended.
Effortless Flow
The homeowners sought not only to renew the atmosphere of their kitchen, but also to enhance its functionality. With this in mind, the entire workflow, from food preparation to cleaning, was carefully considered, along with the dynamics of everyday family life.
In just a few steps and with complete fluidity, one can wash, prepare and cook using the BORA system, supported by a generous work area between the hob and the sink. At the same time, a second user can comfortably make use of the workspace to the right of the sink.
This layout allows cooking to take place without interrupting any of the working zones, encouraging the whole family to come together and share moments of creativity and enjoyment.
Instant Boiling Water
The Quooker system delivers boiling water on demand – an invaluable ally for preparing tea or coffee, steaming food, or assisting with the cleaning of heavily soiled cookware. Here, it is paired with the Flex Round mixer tap in stainless steel, harmonising with the Gaggenau ovens and, naturally, with the Blanco sink.
A double-bowl sink was selected, comprising a main 50 cm bowl for dishwashing and a secondary 18 cm bowl, ideal for rinsing vegetables and supporting food preparation.
BORA QVac
The BORA QVac vacuum sealing system extends the shelf life of food while preserving its freshness and flavour.
Fully integrated into the worktop, it is positioned between the sink and the BORA M Pure system, with a finish that blends seamlessly with the surface. The BORA QVac offers exceptional flexibility, allowing for vacuum sealing or marinating in containers, bags or even bottles.
Illuminated Display Cabinet
On the wall opposite the peninsula, a display cabinet was introduced to unify the elements across both sides of the kitchen. To achieve this, it incorporates the various materials present throughout the project.
The interior features a light wood finish and integrated lighting, echoing the open shelving. The top is in Dekton Bromo, consistent with the worktop and wall cladding, while the doors are framed in soft grey lacquer – the project’s primary tone.
The translucent glass allows it to function as an elegant glass cabinet, subtly showcasing its contents while enhancing the overall sense of refinement.
Waterfall Edge
To bring this JMQ kitchen composition to completion, a worktop was selected to balance the lightness of the soft grey lacquer finish across most cabinetry, without overpowering the distinctive and welcoming texture of the light wood accents.
The deep tone of Dekton Bromo, with its subtle movement, proved to be a perfect match for the intended aesthetic. Its resistance to stains, scratches and thermal shock further reinforces its suitability for everyday use.
It is applied across the entire worktop and splashback, as well as the peninsula’s waterfall edge, where it provides a refined and seamless finish to this expansive work surface.
