A Fresh Charm
A major transformation is the reason for this challenging JMQ project, where aesthetics and functionality join hands for a luxury kitchen, in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods of Portimão, Algarve.
Despite very small and narrow spaces in the original plan, this amazing villa in Algarve presented a huge potential but also challenges, with pillars that had to stay in place. Thus, the old walls were broken down to make the space wider and better illuminated, thanks to the large windows that before were restricted to the living room. The island was carefully planned, and the result is a very harmonious project, where the kitchen is perfectly incorporated in its place.
To take advantage of all the length of the space, we combined fronts in white (island) and grey (main wall), both in lacquered gloss with excellent finish. Playing also with glass cabinets and a wide worktop with large and strong veins to reinforce refinement.
Another highlight of this kitchen is the Quooker system, for instant sparkling water, chilled still water and boiling water supply.
This JMQ Kitchen is complete with two ovens, micro-waves, warming drawer, built-in dishwasher, fridge and freezer by Siemens. Both sinks are from Blanco, as well as the tap on the wall worktop.
Elegance Raised
For a cosier ambiance and timeless elegance, this JMQ kitchen presents three glass cabinets with interior light in a warmer tone. The black frame matches perfectly with the two ovens, micro-waves and warming drawer built-in.
Quooker – Sparkling and Boiling Water
With a Quooker system in your JMQ kitchen, you can have 100 ºC boiling water any moment, to have a tea or a coffee, sterilise a bottle, cook pasta or potatoes faster and easier, and much more. You can also add the Quooker Cube for sparkling water and chilled still water. Everything in just one tap.
A solution that saves water, saves time, saves energy and reduce the plastic usage (watch video).
BORA X Pure
The BORA X Pure system with induction and extraction in just one appliance, is the ideal choice for the clean visual in this kitchen. X Pure also ensure an excellent capacity for extraction and a wide versatility to cook, thanks to two induction zones in each side, that can be combined for large 46×23-cm zones. Perfect for bigger pans.
Functionality
The island is extremely functional, with its 3-meter length and several drawers for extra storage. Besides that, this kitchen has two sinks – a large 70-cm sink in the main wall and a second one, 32-cm wide, in the island. Therefore, the sink in the island is planned for water consumption, with the Quooker system, and for wash food before cooking. This way, it can be smaller and leave more space on the worktop.
Waterfall Island
Dekton Daze was selected for worktop and splashback, with a special emphasis in the waterfall island. Presenting strong and long grey veins in a white surface, Daze enhance the elegance of this JMQ kitchen and its velvet touch express refinement.
Wide Fronts
Inside the island there are wide fronts. This choice prioritizes long lines and maximize the aesthetics thanks to a reduction on the vertical breaks. And the functionality is assured by interior drawers, where are included the cutlery trays, for all the cutlery you need while preparing the dinner and for the guests.
Balanced Visual
The 6,70-meter main wall was carefully projected for a balanced and elegant visual.
With three tall cabinets each side, this JMQ kitchen has a larder cabinet, built-in fridge and freezer in one side, and three glass cabinets in the other end, that makes the space even more cosy. In there are two ovens, microwaves and warming drawer.
Between the tall cabinets, the worktop is a key element to increase functionality when preparing the meals but also to wash the dishes, with a large sink and built-in dishwasher. With 3-meter extension, we could use just one wide piece and the same slab for worktop and splashback, where the veins continue.
Detailed Design
For an excellent result in this JMQ kitchen, the island was designed to the last detail. Its edge aligned with the pillar and the cabinet between the extreme of the island and the same pillar, reinforce the harmony between kitchen and surrounding space.
