Interplay of Colours and Textures
This JMQ kitchen in Praia da Luz, Lagos, is part of a charismatic and personalized project, where colours and textures are combined. The furniture fronts are mostly in Supermatt white and, together with the light shades on the worktop, create a better sense of space. Simultaneously, the warm wood shades in the island and shelves, the texture of Dekton Nilium and the tiles, complete the soul of the area.
There are open cabinets and shelves to create zones of decoration inside the kitchen, that just like the golden handles perfectly match with the selected tones for the furniture on living room and outside area.
This is a fully equipped project, with oven, micro-waves, free standing fridge-freezer, induction cooktop, extractor, built-in dishwasher and washer from Electrolux. Sink and tap are from Blanco.

Blue and Yellow
The tiles selected for the walls create a sense of Portugality in the kitchen and the blue and yellow colours were replicated in decorative elements, such as the stools, chairs, and couches.
The handles of the furniture immerse in the play of colours with sophistication, elegance, and harmony.
Sense of Space
The long hallway between island and sink countertop is wider to make easy two people pass alongside and that’s particularly relevant because this is also were the washer is built-in.
The built-in extractor reduce the amount of visual breaks and, on the right side of the induction cooktop, two wide drawers are perfectly placed for the cutlery and cooking utensils.

Versatile Island
The kitchen is the centre of the modern house and the island is the centre of the kitchen itself. In this JMQ project, the island with 1,60 m x 1,20 m have storage space in both sides and in there you can still sit 4 people.
Thanks to the kitchen design, the island can work like an extra workspace for cooking preparation or leisure moments. With the built-in socket, it’s possible to connect two devices, to use a hand blender or to charge a laptop.
Balance of Spaces
The free standing fridge freezer was the choice for this house, because its extra storage capacity (when compared with a built-in appliance) is especially relevant for this 4-bedroom house.
On the other hand, the American fridge-freezer was rejected in order to create a wider worktop space and balancing the need of food preservation and the need of work service.
