Vibrant Green Kitchen
This young couple wanted a vibrant and joyful kitchen, without compromising elegance and functionality, especially on holidays season, when all the family will be welcomed in this renovated villa, in an upscale area of Portimão, Algarve.
The wide lines and reduction of visual breaks characteristic of JMQ Linea-2 model allow to add a prominent colour, like the green selected as dominant tone for the furniture fronts, creating a space that exhales character and identity. The project aesthetics is balanced with the grey fronts in the island, and the polished Silestone Pearl Jasmine, either in worktop, splashback and waterfall island.
Cleanliness and harmony between shape and function is achieved with built-in appliances, like side by side freezer and fridge, two ovens and dishwasher, all from Siemens. In the centre of the island is the BORA Pure system, for induction and extraction, and in front of the window the sink in black silgranit, 70-cm wide, and the filter water tap, both from Blanco.
Inspiration to Creativity
The kitchen appeals to the senses and inspires creativity. To answer that, it incorporates two Siemens ovens.
Each of those allows to cook different dishes at the same time without mixing flavours or smells, but the second oven allows to use different heating methods and temperatures. Ideal for a succulent roast recipe in slow cooking, and a cake for desert after the family dinner.
Versatile Corner
Between the tall cabinets wall and the base cabinets wall, there are an open shelves cabinet to create a versatile space, where small appliance can be stored, but also books or display decorative pieces. It’s easy to change it over the time and transform the ambient of the kitchen.
Lightness
With a robust colour like the green as main tone on the fronts of the cabinets, especially on the tall cabinets, we suggested to balance this visual strongness with the lightness of a white worktop, the grey on the fronts of the island and the absence of wall cabinets. Those are key choices for a visual pleasant outcome.
Family Bonding
Over the years kitchens transformed from purely functional rooms to became social spaces. The island expresses this role, with areas to work in both sides of the BORA Pure system, with induction and extraction, and an overhanging area for informal meals, where four people can sit comfortably, talking to the chef on duty.
Harmonious Planning
We aim to transform spaces in unique ambientes, welcoming, charismatic and practical.
For that reason, we combined a clear storage section, with tall cabinets over all the wall, and working space with wide worktop in both sides of the sink and both sides of the BORA Pure system, in the island. Also, with a wide passage between them, to make it possible two people work at the same time, or even more.
Filtered Water
The environment is a big issue for JMQ, but also for our clients, and a tap with filtered water allow us to reduce the consume of plastics. And it makes more comfortable go to the supermarket without the need to carry all those water bottles.
The Blanco Catris-S Flexo Filter is a two-way tap, that mix hot and cold water for wash the dishes or the vegetables, and it has an independent channel and mixer for fresh filtered water, without any unwelcomed flavours.
Waterfall Island
For this project we suggested Silestone Pearl Jasmine for the worktop, splashback, island and waterfall, a choice that offers elegance to the place, with its grey subtle veins, inspired in a limestone.
The polished finish reinforces the natural light to the inside trough the wide window over the sink and the door that accesses the garden.
