Space to Transform
To make the kitchen appear less like a kitchen when viewed from the living room, we focused on concealing what is traditionally its most iconic element: the oven.
Our solution features a niche with folding pocket doors, placed at the centre of the tall unit wall, which hides the oven and microwave when not in use. It also conceals small appliances, serving as a hidden breakfast station.
The generously sized waterfall island offers storage on both sides and an overhang that seats five people. It is both a statement of refined aesthetics and a functional workspace, equipped with the BORA X Pure system for induction and extraction, as well as a matte black Franke sink and mixer tap.
The built-in side-by-side fridge and freezer, oven, microwave, and dishwasher are all from Siemens.
Discreet Design
A full wall of tall units provides all the necessary storage space, with a clean aesthetic that is characteristic of our Linea model. The fronts are as wide as possible, with no handles or other protruding elements.
The chosen colour for the kitchen is white, in keeping with the desired visual clarity and minimalist design. Its beauty lies in its subtlety, allowing the surrounding space to shine — offering plenty of scope for complementary decoration.
Pocket Doors
At the centre of the tall units is the folding door section — almost imperceptible when closed, yet highly practical and essential when open. It conceals the oven and microwave when not in use, while also serving as a breakfast preparation area.
The decorative melamine decor, which replicates the oxidised effect of aged materials, pairs perfectly with the choice of worktop for the island.
Breakfast Station
The breakfast station is a delightful surprise, revealed behind the pocket doors like a compact workspace oasis. It includes a small countertop for everyday appliances, soft-close drawers for convenient storage, and shelves for displaying selected items, all gently illuminated.
With just a few simple movements, the pocket doors retract — and the everyday morning clutter disappears (watch video).
Island Storage
The entire working area is centred around the waterfall island, equipped with the BORA X Pure induction and extraction system, a sink, and a mixer tap. As such, the island needed to be exceptionally practical to meet all the clients’ needs when preparing meals.
Just steps away is a drawer unit for cutlery — including internal drawers to maximise storage without affecting the clean exterior aesthetic — along with wide, deep drawers for pots and other essential cooking utensils.
From the island, the cook enjoys an open view to the outside, through large windows that welcome an abundance of natural light.
On the reverse side of the island, an additional run of cabinetry provides extra storage space.
Illuminated Display Cabinet
Positioned at the end of the kitchen layout, the display cabinet acts as a subtle bridge to the living area — elegantly blending the two into a cohesive entertainment space. Discreet interior lighting enhances its visual appeal, while the lower shelves, thoughtfully designed for bottle storage, ensure everyday practicality.
Laminam Ossido Bruno
The 6 cm thick waterfall island makes a striking statement. The chosen material, Laminam Ossido Bruno, takes inspiration from the oxidised effect of iron — perfectly complementing the finish selected for the interior of the breakfast station.
We worked close to the maximum dimensions of the slab, allowing for an overhang where up to five people can sit for quick meals or relaxed family moments.
Franke Icon
The Franke Icon mixer tap is a piece of exceptional elegance to enhance the kitchen. Its matte black finish perfectly complements the Franke sink, as well as the details on the oven and microwave.
Sharing Space
Our goal was to craft a serene sanctuary — a kitchen to be truly lived in, where functional systems maximise the potential of every unit, while the minimalist design of the tall unit wall beautifully showcases the strength and character of the Laminam Ossido Bruno island.
This harmonious blend creates a space that invites connection, a place meant to be shared with those you hold most dear.
