Where Light Flows In
Among the defining elements of this project are the display cabinets. The first, positioned by the kitchen entrance, visually expands the space thanks to its glass side panel, allowing light to flow freely. The second, on the opposite wall, extends the sense of sophistication and creates visual continuity between the different areas.
Beige was the chosen colour for the cabinetry fronts — a warm tone that offers visual comfort and blends effortlessly with the existing flooring, while allowing other elements, such as the client’s chosen wallpaper, to take centre stage.
The tall-unit wall houses high-performance appliances, beginning with a built-in Liebherr freezer with a water connection for continuous ice production. It also includes a Siemens studioLine oven, microwave, and warming drawer, as well as a dual-temperature wine cabinet at the centre. All appliances are aligned at the same height, ensuring a cohesive visual effect. Next to these is the built-in refrigerator, followed by the aforementioned display cabinet.
On the opposite wall, a spacious U-shaped worktop allows two people to work comfortably side by side. It features the sink (and integrated dishwasher) alongside the BORA X Pure system, perfectly positioned to enjoy the stunning view over the Atlantic.
Elegant Entrance
Dark display cabinets with warm lighting have become a hallmark of JMQ design, adding sophistication and depth to every project.
Here, the cabinet is fully bespoke — made to align perfectly with the beam and finished with a glass side — creating a striking focal point at the entrance.
Behind it, a wall of tall units neatly conceals the essential appliances.
Aligned Appliances
At the heart of the tall-unit wall, a Siemens studioLine microwave, warming drawer, and oven are perfectly aligned for a refined, cohesive aesthetic. Between them, a Pando wine cooler with dual temperature zones keeps every bottle at its ideal serving temperature, combining precision and elegance in equal measure.
Where Light Flows In
With its glass side panel, the cabinet opens up the space, letting light from the living room flow naturally into the kitchen and creating a seamless visual link between the two. The result is a luminous, welcoming retreat for the family, where moments of daily life unfold together. From cooking and working to simply enjoying time by the television.
The objects displayed within this distinctive showcase remain visible across the living area, a subtle reflection of the project’s thoughtful design and meticulous attention to detail.
Connecting Element
The two display cabinets are positioned at opposite ends of the space: one at the entrance column and the other integrated into the upper units along the back wall. Together, they act as a connecting element between the different areas of the kitchen, with their elegantly illuminated interiors creating an atmosphere of refined sophistication.
Dekton Soke Niche
To personalise this JMQ kitchen and create distinctive design features, we designed a niche on the back of the peninsula, using the same Dekton Soke found on the worktop and splashback. This element helps bring the living area into the kitchen integrating decorative pieces.
Around it, additional storage has been incorporated with doors and drawers, while still allowing space for a dining table.
Peninsula Interior
As a signature element of every JMQ kitchen, contemporaneity was considered not only in the design — with long, continuous lines and minimal visual breaks — but also in ergonomics and functionality.
Wide and practical drawers were designed, with pull-out accessories on either side of the BORA X Pure system for storing spices and seasonings.
A neutral tone, such as the chosen beige, perfectly complements the calm and inviting atmosphere we aimed to create.
Light as an Ally
In every JMQ project, we consider not only the kitchen’s position within the home’s interior but also its relationship with the outdoors.
In this case, we embraced natural light as our ally, allowing it to flow in from as many directions as possible.
The magnificent view over the Odiáxere River inspired the placement of the BORA X Pure system on the peninsula, allowing cooking to take place with the horizon as a breathtaking backdrop.
Pull-out Larder
Aesthetic beauty should always go hand in hand with functionality and everyday practicality.
With that in mind, the first tall unit was designed as a pull-out larder, featuring five adjustable trays to store weekly groceries with ease and accessibility.
The height of the door aligns perfectly with the integrated fridge and freezer, maintaining a cohesive and harmonious visual line throughout the composition.
A Seamless U-shaped Worktop
Designed in a U-shaped layout, the worktop offers a seamless flow between the cooking and washing areas, allowing two people to work together in total comfort.
Whether preparing starters, cooking the main course, finishing dessert or cleaning up afterwards, this design ensures a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality.
